Chief Executive Officer: Kazang

Martin began his IT career in the early 1980s, working for large blue chips such as Old Mutual and Barclays Bank. With experience in both Europe and the US, he co-founded Emerald Solutions, which specialised in developing large-scale internet applications for companies such as Nike, Intel and AT&T. As the CEO at Emerald, Martin raised approximately $40 million in venture capital funding. When he returned to South Africa in 2001, Martin was involved in a number of technology businesses before becoming CEO of Psitek, the founding company of Kazang. Martin is the CEO of Kazang, which was acquired by CashConnect in 2020.

Chief Financial Officer: Kazang

Julian was appointed CFO for the Kazang Group in January 2012 where he is responsible for all administrative, legal and accounting matters. Prior to this, he had spent a decade in various financial roles at Psitek, joining as financial manager and becoming group financial manager when Saicom Group bought Psitek’s prepaid vending division. Previous experience includes heading up the South African group accounting for a German refrigeration company.

Head of IT and Product Development

Grant leads the team of software engineers, web developers and system administrators that develop and maintain Kazang ContentReady, Kazang Prepaid and Saicom Payphones. As chief designer at Psitek, Grant was instrumental in designing and building the fleet of payment and communications services, and hardware. He developed ContentReady independently after a management buy-out from Psitek, then rejoined the Kazang fold after the merger.

Operations Manager

Francois looks after all Operations and Support functions for Kazang locally and internationally. He started his career at Telkom as a Trainee Technician in 1982 and after qualifying, spent many years managing service delivery and support functions for Telkom, Siemens and Psitek in the Telecommunications industry.
