A vacancy exists for an Application Support Engineer within Kazang Connect, a division of Main Street 1723 (Pty) Ltd, in Cape Town.
The main purpose of this role is to troubleshoot software applications and own the resolution process from beginning to end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resolve tickets using the front-end, MySQL, and other provided tools.
- Escalate to internal resources where necessary.
- Follow each ticket through to resolution and tick closure.
- Owning application-related support tickets until resolved.
- Working with system monitoring tools and responding to alerts.
- Escalate to internal resources where necessary.
- Be on standby rotation.
- Understanding complex systems and problems.
- Work closely with technical support and the DevOps team.
- Work with Software Developers.
- Documenting processes and procedures.
Education & Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12.
- BSc Qualification or any other related qualification.
Experience:
- At least 1-year experience in an Application Support Engineer role.
- Experience in Linux, MySQL and Python (or comparable language).
- Application troubleshooting and issue ownership.
- Understanding of system architecture.
- Risk-adverse dealing with production code and systems.
